How does it work?
We at Afterfect have made the user panel easy to use and navigate. We already ask you the important questions, so you don't have to worry about forgetting to leave any important information behind. From social media accounts, building a memories timeline, storing photos, assigning the care of your pet, or simply where you store your important documents, Afterfect has you covered.
Below we give a brief overview of each section on the user panel.
About
Here you can fill in your personal details, upload a profile picture, manage your family, invite guardians, manage your guardians, and change your settings.
A guardian is someone who you invite to act as a trusted person on your behalf. A recommended choice for a guardian is a family member or close friend. You may have one, or up to four guardians on your behalf. But we highly recommend choosing at least two guardians to ensure the safety of your account and that your last wishes are met.
Guardians can only access your account after your death. There is a strict procedure in place to ensure that your account is not compromised or turned over to your guardians until you are confirmed to be deceased.
You may be invited to be a guardian for someone else. Being a guardian for another person is a great honor as they entrust you with their information they leave behind and to fulfill their last wishes.
Wishes
Have you ever given any thought to your own funeral or discussed this with anyone? While this may not be the easiest subject to discuss, it can be very reassuring to make your last wishes known. For yourself and for your loved ones.
In wishes you can document all of this. This concerns things like your favourite music, who should take care of your pets and whether, for example, you would want a sober funeral ceremony or a festive farewell.
These wishes should be seen as a guide. They could also serve a good basis for drawing up your last will and testament.
What is an Afterfect Page?
An Afterfect page is a page that is created once you have passed. You can specify if you would like this public to anyone with your web address, or you can make it private with a password to limit it to friends and family only. Your Aftefect page will display basic information about you, show your final letter, your memories timeline, and a guestbook for others to write on. Your guardians can also list your funeral information and accept donations to help with the expenses.
Memories
Build an overview timeline from the day you were born to present of all your precious memories and accomplishments. Your timeline will be displayed on your Afterfect page that allows your friends and family to come back at anytime to re-live the memories you shared.
E-Messages
If you were gone today, have you said everything that you wanted to say? Sometimes, we do not tell a person enough how much we love them or how much we value their friendship.
Afterfect offers you the possibility to leave personal messages for your loved ones. Let them know what they meant to you, send them a last greeting, recollect memories, or thank someone.
Online Accounts
In this section you will be able to specify which social media accounts you have and what your specific wishes are per account, in the event of your passing.
Maybe you would like to have a memorial page, or do you want your accounts to be deleted straight away? With Afterfect, all these options will be made available. This will ensure that your digital legacy is properly arranged.
